    Our team reviews every application personally. We vet each situation carefully to ensure we can match you with the right program and resources. This process is handled with care and urgency.

    Once approved, support is delivered quickly — often within 24 to 72 hours for emergency situations. We stay connected with you throughout the process.

Who we serve

Our programs are designed for:

  • Women and families facing housing instability or eviction
  • Survivors of domestic violence seeking safe exit and relocation support
  • Families experiencing food insecurity
  • Mothers seeking educational advancement and scholarship support
  • Families in acute financial crisis needing emergency stabilization

We serve Black, Brown, and marginalized communities across the United States, with particular focus on families who have been failed by traditional assistance systems.

We understand that asking for help takes courage. We want you to know: your information is completely confidential. No identifying details — no name, address, phone number, or email — are ever shared publicly. All fundraisers and social media posts are handled anonymously. Your story is yours.

Individual or Family Application for Assistance

The Black Fairy Godmother Foundation (BFGM) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created to help Black and Brown marginalized families. We support women, families, and children in times of crisis by providing one-time grants of funds or goods. If you or someone you know could benefit from a grant from The Black Fairy Godmother, please complete the application below. All information will be kept confidential. If we are able to fund the application, we will be in touch.

The Black Fairy Godmother Foundation supports marginalized families and children by providing emergency assistance (excluding rental assistance, or purchase of a car). All information you submit is confidential unless you consent to us using anonymized information to share giving stories with our community.

Please note, BFGM provides emergency assistance only. We are unable to promote fundraisers and businesses at this time. BFGM does not help with legal expenses, car expenses, or evictions.

Please identify any online fundraisers (including links), government grants/assistance, and/or other sources of assistance you have received. Having received other forms of assistance does not preclude you from receiving help from The Black Fairy Godmother.

The Black Fairy Godmother loves to share our giving stories with our community. Given sensitivities, we will often change names and limit details. Documentation is critical to our review process. Please provide a valid state-issued ID and documentation that supports your story and request. For example, if you are requesting support for medical needs, documentation may include proof of diagnosis and relevant bills. You can select and upload multiple files.

Yes. Absolutely. All personal information is kept strictly confidential. Any social media posts or fundraisers connected to your case will not include any identifying information.

Who qualifies for assistance?

We serve women and families from marginalized communities facing housing insecurity, food insecurity, domestic violence, and economic crisis. We review each application individually and match applicants to the most appropriate program.

How quickly can I receive help?

Emergency cases are typically reviewed and responded to within 24–72 hours. We understand that time matters.

Do I have to repay the assistance?

No. All support provided by the BFGM Foundation is a grant — not a loan. There is no repayment required.
